The visitor center in Schrems takes you into the fascinating world of the Waldviertel’s moors and ponds. From the 20-meter-high “Stairway to Heaven,” you enjoy unique views of the mystical peatland.

One of Austria’s best-preserved moated castles: across drawbridges, you enter the impressive complex dating back to the 12th century – an experience full of history and atmosphere.

Towering above the Kleine Kamp valley stands one of the oldest castles in the Waldviertel. It combines Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance elements, telling the story of centuries of eventful history.

This village is dedicated entirely to the poppy flower – with giant wicker poppy capsules, the “MOHNument,” the longest poppy blossom mural, and the largest collection of poppy mills. A true feast for the eyes and senses.

Since 1986, the Hoftheater in Pürbach has presented a varied program in a lovingly restored mayor’s farmhouse from 1886 – just 5 minutes from the hotel.

At 1,017 meters, the Nebelstein offers a magnificent view – on clear days as far as Mount Ötscher. A serviced hut (April–November) lies at the foot of the summit, which can be reached in about 15 minutes from the parking area.

At 874 meters, the Mandelstein offers sweeping views into the Czech Republic and the Gratzen Highlands. From the car park, the summit can be reached in an enjoyable 20-minute walk.

With its fjord-like arms and idyllic shoreline, the largest Kamp reservoir is a scenic jewel. Perfect for relaxation, walks, or boat trips.
